Paint & paper is in very good condition. Rematted & backed in acid-free material & set in a contemporary frame. Circa 1880-1890. Sight: 18 ¼"w. x 8 ¾"h.; Frame: 25"w. x 15 ½"h.

Wc/p by listed American artist Joseph C. Claghorn (1869-1947), SLR. Pencil title on reverse paper, "On an Old Turnpike" & stamped "copyright reserved, 703". Winter landscape featuring a stagecoach stop, probably New England or NYS. Paint & paper is in very good condition, rematted in acid-free material and dry mounted on acid-free foam board, a reversible process. Circa 1910-1930. Paper: 30"w. x 19 ½"h.; Frame: 39"w. x 28 3/8"h.

Wc/p by listed White Mtn. & American artist Henry W. Herrick (1824-1906), SLC & dated 1890. Victorian in feeling, of a farmer & his dog bringing cows to water. Probably painted in the Manchester, NH area. The people placed in his paintings were not just for scale, but always performed a task. Paint & paper is in very good condition, professionally cleaned, set in original frame with acid-free mats. Sight: 24"w. x 11"h.; Frame: 35"w. x 20 3/8"h.

Wc/p by listed American artist, Loring W. Coleman Jr. (1918-1988), SLR, dated Dec. 18, 1956. Appears to be a New England famhouse set at the top of a ridge with hills beyond. This subject was Coleman’s specialty. Very fine detail in an illustration style. Very good condition. Set within acid-free mats in a contemporary frame. Sight: 21"w. x 14"h; Frame: 28 ¾"w. x 15 ½"h.

Wc/p by listed American artist, Hendricks A. Hallett (1847-1921), SLR & called ‘The Farmstead’. Realistic New England painting featuring a large red barn with a farmer entering, and a portion of its center chimney white house along with a person walking under a large tree. The paper & paint appear to be in very good condition, but not examined out of frame as its previous owner had it rematted & reframed. Circa 1900. Sight: 22"w. x 15"h,; Frame: 31 ¼"w. x 24 ½"h.

Wc/p by listed American artist J. Ambrose Prichard (1858-1905), SLR, dated 1898. Realistic painting of a young woman in period clothing standing by a forested brook. Probably a NH or MA setting. Not examined out of frame, but the paint & paper appear to be in very good condition & recently rematted & framed by its previous owner. Sight: 13 ¼"w. x 19 ½"h.; Frame 23"w. x 25"h.

Wc/p by listed Philadelphia & American artist, Birdsall Douglas Paine (1858-1905), SLL, titled in pencil on reverse, "The Old Mill, Vermont", "#876". Initially framed by Haley & Steele, Boston, MA. Very good detail & color retention. The paper is brittle. During this period he painted a number of watercolors of similar size that were dated between 1900-1905. Stamped on the back of the original artist board backing was "J.F.Olsson & Co, Harvard Sq., Cambridge, MA". This firm advertised in the "Harvard Monthly" in 1903 & 1904. Circa 1890-1905. Sight: 6"w. x 3"h.; Frame: 10 ¾"w. x 7 ¾"h.

The paint & paper appear to be in very good condition, but not examined out of frame as the previous owner set it in acid-free mats and in an older frame. Circa 1890-1910. Realistic scene featuring a weathered mill building fronting a substantial but partially hidden residence with mature foliage all around. Probably a Westchester County, NY scene. Paint & paper is in very good condition, rematted with acid-free material & set in a period frame. Remnants of a Vose Gallery, Boston label was on its original dust cover. Circa 1888-1898. Sight: 18 ½"w. x 11"h.; Frame: 25 ¾"w. x 18 ½"h.

It is a scene often popular with area artists. Paint & paper in very good condition set in a contemporary frame. A Rockport Art Association Auction Label & title is on reverse. Wc paper: 14"w. x 11 ½"h.; Frame: 20"w. x 16"h.
