O/cb by listed American artist, Carroll L. Nichols (1882- ), SLL, "C.L. Nichols". Women artists, at the time, often hid their female identity by using initials. On reverse, a partial Salmagundi Club exhibition label & title, "The Meadows" & "$25." price. Impressionistic late fall, early winter landscape, probably ME, set in a hand carved period frame with "Fredrix, NY" stamp. Tight paint, good color & a slight concave warp to the canvas-board which does not detract from the painting. Circa 1939-1945. C/b: 12"w. x 9"h.; Frame 16 ½"w. x 13 5/8"h.

Barns of this design are common in PA, & western NYS & occasionally in New England. Artist board & paint in very good condition, set in a contemporary frame. Circa 1930-1940. Realistic landscape featuring a central stone arched bridge over a quiet pond with colorful flowers, plants & trees all around. Original stamped Glendale, LI, NY stretchers with Pond stamp. Original frame with an old pencil painting price on reverse. Paint & canvas is in very good condition. Canvas: 30 ¼"w. x 24 ¼"h.; Frame: 35 ½"w. x 29 ½"h.

Semi impressionistic summer landscape in horizontal planes of green & blues punctuated by vertical deciduous trees & a bisecting curved dirt road. Probably a scene along the Mississippi River. Paint & artist board is in very good condition, black light reveals minor retouches. Set in a period frame. Circa 1900-1915. A/b: 12"w. x 9"h.; Frame: 17 ¾"w. x 14 7/8"h.

O/ab by listed American artist, Willard J. Page (1885-1958), SLL & on reverse over artist’s stamp & titled, "Mt Ypsilon" (Rocky Mtn National Park, CO). Very colorful aspen trees frame a distant vista of Mt Ypsilon. Set in a period frame. Paint is in very good condition, the snow & clouds were painted in last resulting in some very minor white specs on other colors. The board is slightly warped, but not detracting. Circa 1910-1930. A/b: 8 ½"w .x 11"h.; Frame: 11 1/8"w. x 13 5/8"h.

Bright color, clean & defined brush strokes, excellent composition & condition. Probably southern New England coast. This represents a painting done at the height of his career & is set in an older frame. C/b: 9"w. x 12"h.; Frame: 14"w. x 17"h.

Realistic rendition of 2 cowboys on horseback arriving at a western outpost on a bleak & cold winter day, with the only light from inside the adjacent buildings. Stretcher imprint, "Artist Materials, Grumbacher, New York", also, "Marvin Enes, No 164, 1000 Rollins, Missoula, MT". Paint & canvas in very good condition, set into a contemporary Mexican frame. Impressionistic landscape featuring a foreground pond, colorful plant material bordering the pond with hills & background sky. Paint is in good condition with some varnish inconsistency & canvas board is in very good condition. The frame is probably original. Circa 1925-1950. C/b: 16 ½"w. x 13 3/8"h.; Frame: 21 5/8"w. x 18 ¾"h.

O/p (panel) by listed Cape Cod, Cape Ann & American artist George Leo Bowman Jr. (1935-2006), SLR & titled on reverse, "Tidal Flats From Essex".The painting illustrates tidal flats at low tide with 2 people, a seagull & background buildings. Blue is the dominant color in a horizontal composition with a play of light in the upper right sky. The flats are probably an inlet from Ipswich Bay in Essex, MA. The painting panel by Grumbacher (NY) is in very good condition as is the paint & set in probably its original frame. Circa 1965-1985. Panel: 24"w. x 18"h.; Frame: 30 ¾"w. x 24 3/8"h.
